But for the majority of the episode? Nah. Silence is good in momentary bursts, or for a particularly emotional scene. As cool as the moves were, the tone could have had much more impact if paired with the right OST. Heavenly push into piercing Amaterasu spikes felt awesome. Sasuke countered with stylish moves, taking on the group without difficulty. The taijutsu in the fist episode was great, especially when Naruto tossed around clones as he was falling and managed to flip Sasuke end-over-end, reminiscent of a move he used in part 1. I almost can't believe we're finally here. Valley of the End, Round 2 brought an exquisite, long awaited fight to reality. Somehow, compared to 167, this ep, although well done, do lack a certain tension that facing a godly antagonist with mysterious powers (like Pein) will bring. This special will be one of the best fights in this anime, although my fav fight ep is currently still shippuuden ep 167 (for that ep, really cinematic ep with fluid animation man, and the tension & emotional buildup towards the end is really something amazing). Also "Tragic" (proposed by earlier posts) being played starting from the shot of the setting sun, at the beginning of their exhausted fight, is also good! Some things that will make this special even better- I agree with some posters earlier about having music during their first taijutsu fight (kokuten was proposed earlier which I thought was a great choice!). Probably by force though instead of being convinced, as I don't think he'll subscribe to Naruto's ideals, too optimistic and hopeful for emo-Sasuke. But since I disagree with Sasuke wanting to kill Naruto because of that, Naruto having a point as well (a lone ranger is not viable long-term in real life as well), as well as my belief that absolute power always corrupts in the long run, I do hope Sasuke is stopped eventually. Interestingly, Sasuke is not behaving like a immature brat as always, he actually makes sense in his rationale and actually wanted to sacrifice himself for the world! Wow! Like the ending of the MC of another popular anime. The slow panning of the exhausted fist fight in the water is so painful to watch- yet it embodies their utter determination to not give up on either side for so long.Really love the bro fistbump between Naruto and Kurama (Kurama's smile in that moment was so precious), and the making of Naruto's last rasengan, unexpectedly moving T.T And oh yeah, finally (!!) he can create rasengan with one hand!.Love the scene transitions between their younger and current selves throughout the fight.
